런던 출신의 제마이마 머피(Jemima Murphy)는 자연의 숭고함을 재구성해 독특한 시각적 경험을 선사하는 작가로, 색채를 활용한 특유의 분위기와 물리적 거리감, 공간감이 두드러지는 작품 세계를 선보인다. 즉흥적으로 몸을 움직여 물감을 붓고 닦아낸 후 그 위에 리드미컬한 붓터치를 더하는 작업 방식이 특징이다. 제마이마 머피의 작품에서는 풍요와 결핍, 고통과 행복, 예상되는 것과 예상치 못한 것 사이의 균형을 살펴볼 수 있다.
Jemima Murphy is a London-born artist who offers a unique visual experience through landscapes that resonstruct the sublimity of nature, using colour to create mood and establish a sense of physical distance and space. She works with improvisational body movements, pouring and washing away paint, then adding rhythmic brushstrokes on top. Her work maintains a balance between abundance and scarcity, pain and happiness the expected and the unexpected.

Pam Evelyn 팸 에블린
서리(Surrey) 출신의 팸 에블린(Pam Evelyn)은 삶의 다양한 경험을 캔버스에 직관적으로 투영하여 복잡한 구성 속에서 생동감을 연출하는 작가이다. 광범위하고 추상적인 팸 에블린의 작품은 신체, 물성과 관련된 높은 밀도의 질감을 표현한다. 이는 물감층을 세심하게 더하고 긁어낸 후 그 위에 다시 작업을 시작하는, 수련에 가까운 오랜 과정의 결과이다. 레이어를 쌓고 줄여 나가는 반복적인 작업을 통해 살아 숨쉬는 듯한 풍경이 연출된다.팸 에블린은 2019년 런던의 슬레이드 미술학교(Slade School of Fine Art)에서 학사 학위를, 2022년 로열컬리지오브아트(Royal College of Art)에서 회화 석사를 취득했다. 2019년에는 카스 아트 상(Cass Art Prize)을 수상하고, 2022년에는 코널의 포스모어 스튜디오(Porthmeor Studios)에서 레지던시를 경험했다. 최근 주요 전시로는 런던의 Pace Gallery(2023), 워윅아트센터(Mead Gallery)(2023), 캐나다 벤쿠버의 Centre for International Contemporary Art(2023)등이 있다. 그녀의 작품은 이탈리아 토리노의 산드레토 레 리바우덩고 재단(Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo)과 런던의 자블루도비치 컬렉션(Zabludowicz Collection) 등 여러 공공기간에 소장되어 있다.
Born in Surrey, Pam Evelyn intuitively projects life experiences directly onto the canvas, creating complex and vibrant compositions. Her expansive, abstract works prossess a dense texture related to the body and materiality, the result of a meditative process of careful layering, scraping and re-expression over time. Through repetitive gestures, she builds and reduces layers, resulting in an effect that feels like observing a living, breathing landscape. Evelyn holds a BFA from the Slade School of Fine Art, London (2019) and an MA in Painting from the Royal College of Art, London (2022). She received the Cass Art Prize in 2019 and a prestigious residency at Porthmeor Studios, Cornwall in 2022. Recent exhibitions include The Reason for Painting, Mead Gallery, Warwick Arts Centre, United Kingdom (2023); and New British Abstraction, Centre for International Contemporary Art, Vancouver, Canada (2023). Evelyn’s work is included in the public collections of Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Turin, Italy and Zabludowicz Collection, London, United Kingdom.

노팅험 추신의 작가 사라 커닝햄(Sarah Cunningham)은 상상 속의 황야와 끊임없이 변화하는 숲속 풍경을 통해 삶과 본질을 탐구한다. 층을 이루는 빛과 색으로 연출된 꽃, 햇빛, 하늘, 물 등의 요소가 신비로운 자연 공간을 표현한다. 사라 커닝햄의 작품에서는 동일한 작업의 반복이 두드러지며, 이는 자연의 숨겨진 부분을 드러내기 위한 지속적인 몸짓으로 볼 수 있다.
1993년 노팅엄에서 태어난 커닝햄은 현재 런던에서 작업 및 거주중이며, 2022년 로열컬리지오브아트(Royal College of Art)에서 회화 석사(MA) 학위를 취득했다. 그녀의 작품은 아스펜, 베를린, 로스앤젤레스, 뉴욕, 밴쿠버의 알민레쉬(Almine Rech), 맥스 헤츨러(Max Hetzler), CICA 밴쿠버 등에서 소개되었다. 2019년에는 알리 H. 알카지 장학금(Ali H. Born in Nottingham, Sarah Cunningham explores the essential and the living through imagined wilderness and ever-changing forest landscapes. Using layers of light and colour, she expresses the mysterious spaces of nature through elements such as flowers, light, sky, and water. Her work emerges from a repetitive process, which can be seen as a continuous gesture aimed at revealing the hidden aspects of nature. Cunningham was born in Nottingham in 1993 and lives and works in London. She received an MA in Painting from Royal College of Art in 2022. Her work has been included in numerous exhibitions in Aspen, Berlin, Los Angeles, New York and Vancouver at Almine Rech, Max Hetzler and the CICA Vancouver among others. She is the recipient of the Ali H. Alkazzi Scholarship Award (2019) and the Djanogly Art Award (2019).
